This book is one of the most beautiful books I've ever seen. Each chapter shares a few pages about the Amish people and their beliefs. Then it goes on to share exquisite pictures and the proverbs of these simple people. Some of my favorites are, "Bibles that are coming apart usually belong to people who are not.", "Swallowing pride rarely gives you indigestion." and "A child can read a parent's character before he can read the alphabet."

About Suzanne Woods Fisher: Suzanne Woods Fisher is the CBA bestselling author of The Choice, The Waiting, Amish Peace, and Amish Proverbs. Her interest in the Anabaptist cultures can be directly traced to her grandfather, W. D. Benedict, who was raised in the Old Order German Baptist Brethren Church in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. SO, let's do it this way. The Amish have their proverbs which are really just sayings they live by. I'm from the South, and we have our own proverbs.....things like "There is more than one way to skin a cat." I'm pretty sure you have some sayings or proverbs of your own.
