I have been saying for months -- probably almost every week for a year -- that I hope time will slow down.
This week, things did slow down for just a bit.
School was out for three days and a lot of our evening activities have slowed some or were cancelled.
It has been a wonderful evening.
I'm truly thankful for this week!

Saturday, November 22, 2014 --
Maggie had a sleepover on Friday night.
First thing Saturday, we were treated to a fashion show.
It was also the first Saturday in a long while that we had nothing to attend. No soccer, no church events. Nada.

Sunday, November 23, 2014 -- A day of church, family and then church again.

At youth Sunday afternoon, hubs led what we like to call The Game of Life.
The kids learned how to deal with different financial situations and how to live 'the game of life'.
It was loads of fun.

Monday, November 24, 2014 --
school, work and then home to get homework done.
Part of her homework is practicing.
Loving listening to her play.
Brady had a ritual when he goes to bed each night.
His dad or I read him a story, then we say prayers, Then, if I'm putting him to bed, he give me the I love you sign in sign language.
And recently he has added this....

Tuesday, November 25, 2014 -- This night was my night to host my book club at my house.
I'm kind of cheesy in that I really like themes.
SO, since our book was from the 1918 era, we had finger foods.
We read "The Beautiful and the Damned" by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
While none of us loved the book, most of us were glad we read it.

Wednesday, November 26, 2014 --` A day of hanging out at home and getting some work done.
We went out for supper and got our first Christmas Card when we got home.
This note was in the card.
GREAT gift!
We even spent the evening together watching this.

Thanksgiving for us was a trip to Greensboro to be with part of hubby's family.
It was a great day.

Today has been a rare day with nothing to do.
IT was (AGAIN) glorious.
I tried to do some Black Friday shopping online but it didn't go well.
OH well. Shopping tomorrow so hopefully I will do better then.
It's time to take down the Thanksgiving decor.....
and put up the Christmas !!!!
OH, and our friends Tripp and Jenny brought donuts and stopped by for breakfast this morning.
We were all thrilled to get to spend a little time with them.

Again, I am so thankful for this calmed down week.

ReplyDeleteI love the slower weeks so much. Too bad they disappear so very quickly.
My kiddo is supposed to practice her clarinet for homework each night too but unfortunately some days that slips through the cracks with the other school work she has to get done.
