Take Up HIS Cross

This evening I've been preparing for my Sunday School class in the morning {which I am SOOO looking forward to} and for my Esther bible study tomorrow night.
As is usual for me, God is working in themes. He keeps bringing me back to what it is to be a servant. I have actually started a whole other post on exactly that topic.
God is working in my life and in my heart about what being his servant looks like in my life.

One of the verses that I keep getting led back to is Matthew 16:24-26

Matthew 16:24-26 (New International Version)

24Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25For whoever wants to save his life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. 26What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

God keeps bringing this verse back to me. To look at. To read. To ponder on..... Take up HIS cross......follow me.....what does it mean? What exactly is HIS cross? what is a real follower? Hubs preached on that topic a couple of weeks ago -- see how God keeps bringing this to me?

My biggest desire is to be a real follower. To be authentically HIS.

For God to be my everpresent light that I follow all the time. For Him to be my vision....

God is teaching me and I know, has much to teach me about being his servant and keeping HIM as my constant vision.
