Parade Fun!

This past Saturday was Homecoming at Western Carolina University - which is in a town very near ours. We attended the Homecoming Parade on Friday evening. We sat right in front of the judges, so we got to see all the competition floats do their thing. Lots of fun!

When I told the girls that we were going to the parade, they had some very interesting thoughts about what was to take place at the parade. These were a couple of the comments.

L said, "I like parades. They will take my picture."
M said, "Oh, everybody will be dancing."

These comments came because at the last parade we attended these things did happen.
It was a very fun parade and some people did dance.....

This group did a dance to Men In Black....betcha couldn't guess that one! =)

A couple of more clever signs and float ideas.

This group was doing surgery on the bulldog that had been beaten down by the Catamounts.....

We won't discuss the irony here.

This picture is for you, Ginger. Thought you might like to see that your sorority was represented.

There was, of course, the Homecoming Court Float.

This school does have an awesome, big band. There were very loud and very good!

And the cheerleaders with the Catamount.

And while my girls didn't really understand the craziness of the floats, they did enjoy the parade greatly. What's not to love when you can crawl around and pick up candy? We came home with a bag full.....

Ya'll have a great Monday, I'm off to do laundry.

  1. I saw the red, buff & green letters before I even saw that you took the photo for me! :) Love you!

  2. I love these pictures, Mindy. We didn't get to go to the game (we just went to one a few weeks ago and won't go back until Nov. 22). Don't you just love their band? I think they're so good, but I am a little biased :)

  4. UGA never had a homecoming parade when I was there, but I bet college parades are awesome. We're going to Dade County's parade tomorrow. Not quite the same, but Micah gets to ride in it with his soccer team. Should be fun. Oh I heard you're coming for the Festival?!
