Commentary on Hollywood

Today I'm a little fed up with a few things in Hollywood.

First, the whole Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien thing --- I'm so tired of hearing about it. I think that there is a lot of blame to go around in this -- Jay and NBC included but I'm a little disgusted about the 30+ million dollar settlement Conan is getting to go off the air. Seriously? 30 + MILLION Dollars!!!! What? I think the whole thing is RIDICULOUS!!! I mean aren't we in the middle of an economic crisis? And Conan gets millions to "NOT" be on tv anymore. I just don't understand that!

Second, I heard on tv tonight that Tiger Woods is in rehab. Probably a good thing. But then they also said that he made $100,000 worth of upgrades on his room so it would be comfortable for him. HUH? The rooms were beneath him?

Now, I know that one shouldn't believe everything one sees on tv. And I don't . But still. If that statement about Tiger is even remotely true, it makes me sad.

And the whole Conan/ Jay Leno thing -- again -- makes me sad! People in Haiti could really use that 30 million dollars. And who knows - maybe Conan will give some - maybe even a lot-- of his money away.

Sometimes I think we need to remind these people that the love of money is the root of all evil.
And clearly -- there is some love of money going on here. Am I the only one who feels this way?
