Camera Woes

Y'all.........

I think I've mentioned a time or ten in the last few posts that my camera is broken. I've whined about it alot, I know.....

But I am VERY upset about it!!!
It's just really bad timing to not have a camera. Especially for someone as picture crazy as I am!

I've been looking at some camera's -- hoping for a new one....
Ok - well - really -- I've been looking at this one because I really want to take pictures like McMama does!

As I thought about it, I realized that this isn't the only camera there is out there.
So, I decided that I should ask all my wise friends out there in bloggyland -- what kind of camera do you recommend?

  1. I use a Kodak Easy Share. There are different levels and come with various features. I've had mine for several years and it has worked flawlessly. Most importantly, once you've chosen, LEARN the camera and how to use it for maximum results.

Good luck in your search and I hope Santa brings you one . . . early :)

    Merry Christmas!

  2. We have an older version of the cannon rebel and I love it. I always get compliments for my pictures. I usually end up taking the pictures for the events of church and have never heard any complaints. I am not cameral savy, and that is why I like this camera. If you want to do some fancier stuff, you can. But then there is the auto mode that works great and takes wonderful pictures.
My husband can take more complicated pictures with settings, etc. and I can use the auto mode and snap away.

I love it. When we bought ours, I think it was at seven or eight mega pixals. One of these days we hope to add a lense or two to be able to use.

If you want something to catch quick shots, then I recommend something else that you can carry in your purse. I just always carry the cannon with me...but I don't have small kids to tote around either. I did watch my granddaughter for awhile and still carried it with me...not a problem there. So that, I guess, is a personal choice.

    Good luck on your search.

  3. Hey Mindy,
First thanks for the Christmas card..cute second I have a Sony Cyber-shot that I got a Best-Buy when Sofie was born. The lady there really knew her stuff. I learned about mega pixels and other camera stuff. You only need a big number of mega pixels if you plan on printing large photos. Ours is 7.2
Also, it was important for us to have a large screen on the back and even more importantly was that we wanted a camera that can take several pictures right after another, so you can just shoot and shoot fast to try to get the best shot. A lot of cameras will pause to download the shot, which is very frustrating when you have a moving toddler. I hope this is not just rambling and helps some. Good luck and I hope you find a good sale.
PS our camera was on sale and ran around the $250 mark.
PSS Tell K that this is a very important purchase because your bloggy friends NEED to see cute pictures of your kids at Christmas!! :)

  6. Kodak Easy share for me too. I have had mine for several years and when it dies I will probably buy another one. I love that it has settings for taking action shots, portrait, and so on.

  7. I'm a Canon girl and actually the XSi is the camera I use. If your wanting to do just snapshots the Canon has some less expensive models that take great pictures...but...if you're really wanting a camera with some power, the XSi is the way to go.

  8. I just got the Canon XSI a couple of months ago and I'm loving it so far! My sis is a pro photog and she uses a Canon as well! I also have a Canon Elph that I keep in my purse for those photo emergencies that are always sure to happen when you have kids!

I sure hope Santa brings you one! EARLY!!
