Send Up Some Prayers For Us!

Please send up some prayers for my family this week.

Today was my oldest daughter's first day of 1st grade. She was very nervous as it is a brand new school and she doesn't know anyone. Please say a prayer for her today. We said a prayer together this morning that God would send her a special friend today and I am believing he will.

Tomorrow is my middle daughter's first day of Kindergarten. Say a prayer for her, too. Though she doesn't seem as nervous. She has met about 3 children from her classroom already. She is more excited than anything. But, I won't get to take her to her first day.....my Mom will be doing that for us. Say a prayer for all of them.

Also, some of you mentioned that maybe the baby came since I've not posted over the weekend. Nope.....no such luck.
SO, we are to arrive at the hospital at 6AM tomorrow for the induction. Please be in prayer for us all. I've never been induced and because of that I have some added anxiety besides the normal labor and delivery anxiety. Specifically, if you don't mind - please pray for a healthy baby and mommy when is it all over tomorrow.
I am also very excited that this little boy will be here tomorrow!

And maybe add a little prayer that I can some sleep tonight.....=)

I have a million and one things to do today around the house to be ready for baby and company. Laundry....bathrooms to clean....clothes to iron....etc...etc....So, we will see ya'll when we are all home again.
And THANK YOU in advance. You don't know how much your prayers mean to me!
This is a very BIG week in our family life. Keep us in your prayers if you don't mind!

  1. I will be praying, Mindy...for you and this new little guy as well as your daughters beginning school...how fun, but still stressful on mom! I understand!

About being induced...I have been induced 3 out of 4 times...mainly a week early to make sure the baby is not getting too big for a normal delivery. In some cases it is very wise to go this route. I prefer being induced...the meds they give you are closely monitored and the whole process is a gradual totally controlled labor and delivery. It made things go very nicely to me as opposed to the quick, scary, and painful delivery of my second child. I delivered 2 of my induced babies at at 3:45pm and 4:15 pm...beginning the process at about 7 am. My first baby took longer....well, because it was my first. I had an epidural at about noon...whenever I started getting uncomfortable and it went very smoothly. I actually enjoyed both of those days very much. (these were my last 2 babies) Hopefully that will ease your mind a bit.

But, I will pray...it is all kinda scary to me, too...I can relate to your anxiety! My husband always reminded me of how rare it is for anything to go wrong...most babies and mommies do perfectly fine!

I will be praying...that God will shower His lovingkindness on you and will bless you beyond measure!

  2. Hey Mindy!!

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you too. You know, if they had waited til Wednesday to induce, he would have been born on your Uncle Roddy's birthday!
I'm glad your Mom's there with you....I was pretty sure she would be.
Can't wait to hear all about him---do we have a name yet (or have I missed that somewhere along the way)?
Anyway, we're there with you in spirit.

    Love you,
    Donna, Roddy and Casey

  9. Dear Mindy,

I am praying for you and your family. A lot of special things happening all at one time. But God will see your family through it all.

I'm sure Miss Allie will have good friends - Meredith started middle school and then high school and did not know anyone - but all turned out well. It is hard though going the first few days. Love to Allie.

Miss Maggie will be fine tomorrow - I'm glad she is so excited.

Will be praying for you, Ken and baby boy tomorrow.

    Love, Lisa

  10. Mindy:

I will be keeping you and your family in my prayers this week.

My daughter-in-law was induced for the birth of both of our grandchildren and everything went very well. They monitor mother and baby closely. I know there is always apprehension anytime we do something like this that is out of the ordinary for us.

Praying that you get some good rest tonight and that you have an easy labor and delivery with a beautiful, healthy baby boy by this time tomorrow.

  11. I'm hoping they make lots of friends their first day. My son was nervous but said he made friends with the ones who sit around him. So at least that's something. I was induced. First time being pregnant and my labor was only 6 hours, and I heard people could be in labor for hours and hours so I was relieved

  12. Hi,
I'm new to your blog and yes....I'm praying for you. I have 3 kids (youngest is 2) and my pregnancy/baby days are behind me now. My advice? Skip the house work...treasure every moment of this precious time in your life! Also accept help if it's offered and be specific about how they can help.
