First, I asked if she would like some carrots (we were at a buffet).
M said "No."
I said, " They're good for you. They help you see well."
M said, "I don't need them, I already see good. I can see things far, far away."
Later on, just she and I were sitting at the table and we were talking about our baby that is due soon.
M asked, "Who made you?" (speaking of me)
I said, "God did."
M said, " I thought your mama and daddy did." (Really I have no idea how she knows anything about this. Aside from the fact that our baby is in my belly, I'm baffled)
I said, "The bible says that God knit you together in your mom's belly. That means he made you in my belly." (After a conversation of what 'knit' meant - I should've chosen a different word.)
M said, "How?"
I said, "I don't know - he just made us."
M said, " Did God make earrings?"
I said, "No, I think someone else came up with earrings."
M said, " You?"
I said, "No"
M said, "Grammy?"
I said, "No, earrings were invented a long time before Grammy had them."
M said, "I think Eve invented them."
I said, "Maybe Eve invented them. M, who were Adam and Eve?"
M said, "Christians"
I did correct her and tell her that Adam and Eve were not Christians, but I just wanted to record this whole conversation to remember it all."
She is SO, SO smart! Must take after her Momma! ;)
