I'm trying really hard to cultivate in myself a grateful attitude. What you may not know about me is that I can be pretty pessimistic. {Of course, some of you do know that about me}. And while some of the things I'm "down" about and/or am pessimistic about are legitimate things, I know that continued pessimism is not what God wants from me. I also know that seeing the glass as half empty so much is bad for my health.
Physically, Mentally and Emotionally.
It's been a super busy day around here but looking back at it there is much to be thankful for. I thought I would share those with you!!!
*I actually worked out this morning. I really don't like working out so anytime I do, I'm thankful when it's over! Seriously, I am thankful that it is over but I am always thankful that I did it. I know it is good for me!
* After working out, I got busy with some cooking. I made a Lasagna from this recipe over at Little Bit Funky. I also got my stand mixer out {I love my stand mixer!} and made homemade yeast rolls. I found that recipe on a blog, too but I can't remember which one. SO, I'm thankful tonight for the internet where I can find fantastic recipes!!!
*Another reason to be thankful for the internet. Recipes for homemade cleaners. I made these two today.
From over at The Family Homestead. I put some lavender essential oil in the All Purpose Cleaner and then used it to clean my kitchen cabinets. Many things to be thankful for --- the NON-TOXIC recipes, the delightful smell, and my clean cabinets.
*After all of that I did some housework and went for a walk with my friend Courtney.
And then came home and finished making supper because Courtney and her hubby were coming to supper!
I'm thankful for delicious food - both the lasagna and the yeast rolls, good friends and good fellowship.
This are our friends - Drew and Courtney!
It was a wonderful evening ---- even if Courtney did make fun of me for saying something was "off the hook"......what? people don't talk like that anymore?!? =)
*And now, I'm thankful that I can go take a nice warm bath and drift off to sleep in my safe, warm bed!!
Hope you can look back at your day and be thankful, too!!!
