Soooooo, this morning I had a first happen.
Allie came to me when she woke up and told me she had a tummy ache.
I told her to try and eat breakfast and then we would see how she felt.
She continued to feel bad. She was not running a fever so I had her finish getting ready for school.
And when I was trying to fix her hair for school, she was crying.
SO, I let her stay home from school.
I returned from taking her sisters to school and found her lying on her bed looking out the window.
No longer was she crying. Nor did she seem too sick.
I know that she did have a tummy ache but she wasn't sick enough to be out of school and she was feeling much better an hour later.
I struggled with what to do....
so, I let her stay home.....
BUT, I had her do some chores around the house this morning....
I'm hoping that the next time , she'll choose to go to school rather than stay home and do chores with me....
Which makes me wonder.....what do you do when your kid isn't really sick enough to be out of school but
is home anyways????
After lunch, Allie and Brady had a good time playing.
They played some domino's.
They had a great time....
and it was fun to watch, too!!!
Later this afternoon, a box showed up....
I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I had ordered that would have come in a box like this....
the kids thought it was a picture.
GOOD GUESS....
But nope, it was this beautiful dress for Allie.
It's a couple sizes too big but I think it is a beautifully timeless dress.
She is looking forward to wearing it!
For supper, I fixed a new recipe.
Butternut Squash Ravioli with Walnuts....
It. was. Delicious!!!
2 of 4 kids ate it.
And liked it.
Which around here equals success.....
Two more things this evening....
Have you seen this commercial?
I love it!!!!!
Lastly, I am in love with this dress.....
why, oh ,why does it have to cost so stinking much?!?!
Give a stay-at-home-mom-preacher's wife a break!!!
Hope you had a great Monday.
Ours has been a pretty good one.....
except for the obvious angst over how I handled things with my tween daughter today.
I second guess everything I do.....and it is causing me some grief tonight.....
Off to read The Hunger Games.....which I'm finding that people have strong opinions about this book.....
in HIM -
My word, I cracked up at Allie wiping down baseboards. That looks like something I would do! Emma pulls this atleast 1 time a year and I always figure it's just her needing a break. We're the same way, right? We call it a 'Mommy Day' and love every minute.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love that dress!! You know I need to know where you got it!! It's so hard to find pretty clothing that's modest.
Love the dress. Good to meet you too. Look forward to meeting other pastors wives through the SUYL. Your family is precious!
