My amazing MIL, gave me two things for Christmas. A set of my Christmas China {which I adore and force everyone who comes to my house to eat off of this time of year}
and a new blender.
Because a blender is what I told her that I wanted.
The blender that we got in 2000 as a wedding gift had finally bit the dust a while back.
By a while back, I mean probably a year or two ago.
Problem was only time I thought about it was when I would make soup that needed blending or when I was thinking about making smoothies.
So, I was super excited to get a blender for Christmas.
Today, I made my very first {EVER} smoothie.
It was called a Berry Healthy Smoothie.
This is frozen blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and carrots.
Then, I added almond milk.
And Pom juice.
and ice......
Then I put the lid on and blended away......
It take a while to blend up all that ice!!!
But, it was delish!!!
I'm so super excited to have a blender to make smoothies in.
I am really interested in truly healthful smoothies.
So, I'm in the market for recipes!

ReplyDeleteYour blender looks pretty sporty. Mine is the old standard white lid kind.
ReplyDeleteGlad your first smoothie was a success. We usually use fruit juice (constituted two parts water to one part juice concentrate) and add whatever fruit is available. If we're on the ball we slice bananas and freeze them. They add a wonderful texture to smoothies. I make this half of the recipe at a time.
