Happy Mother's Day!!!
I hope you all had an amazing day. I sure have!
First was church this morning then a quick lunch at home. The kids ate really fast and then spent the whole time I was eating begging me to hurry so they could give me their gifts.
First up, these are from Lillie.
Her gift included a clay pot she made, a ceramic tile with a flower that she made, three cards and a "Mother's Day Magazine". The funniest part was that Lillie said:" My Mom deserves the mom of the year award because she's a good cook" Why is that funny you ask? Because Lillie is the pickiest child I have and rarely eats the suppers I fix. So funny. All of this stuff is from Maggie.
Several pages of stuff, including a brainstorming sheet of words about Mom. =)
And in her card, she wrote "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, I love Jesus and also you!"
Maggie and her Daddy also planted some Sunflower seeds for me.
I look forward to seeing them grow!
Allie gave me a story she wrote about what she was giving me for Mother's Day, a card that says "Other Mom's are Great, but you are the BEST"
and a Zinnia. What I love most about the zinnia is that she let it slip that this is her 3rd Zinnia. Apparently, her teacher was smart enough to plant extras because 3rd graders aren't great at horticulture. =) Hopefully, *I* can keep it alive.
When I arrived home at lunch time on Friday, he rushed up to give it to me.
SOOOO sweet.
She drew the picture of Cookie Monster (who Brady loves)
and it says "COOKIES! Will you help me eat the cookies, Mommy"
And when I read the card, Allie gave Brady and I both an Oreo to eat.
I can't decide if I want to get a firepit for my backyard or if I want to get supplies to make a vegetable garden in containers. Either way, I love the gift!
We then rested for a while and Brady napped. I watched the Mother's Day Marathon on Walton's Mountain. (I love that show!)
Then we went to supper.
I had asked to go to a local place where they have great ribs.
Unfortunately for me, they were closed on Sundays.
But, fortunately, for me -- my favorite local Italian place was open.
It was yummy! Garlic Knots are the best!
We ate outside on the patio and just generally enjoyed ourselves.
This is Brady and myself. He loved the lions at the door.
It is a beautiful place to walk around.
Here are a few pics of the scenery....
Ducks and Geese....
I think these would make the perfect place to do wedding pics!
They have lots of roses there....and none are anything less than gorgeous!
