Moments {3. 20.15 and 3.27.15}

Two weeks of super busy - ness have come and gone.
Here is what's been keeping us so busy.

Saturday, March 14, 2015 --
Because I knew of the busy- ness that was about to ensue for the net two weeks, I planned to do Easter clothes shopping on this day.
And much to Ken's chagrin, because all 4 kiddo's needed to be there to pick out their Easter clothes, he had to come, too.
If only they would go back to wearing whatever *I* pick out and being happy with it, I could go alone.
But, since they've all become people with their own minds-- everyone had to go.
It was actually a pretty painless day.
They picked outfits and tried them on as asked.
Here are a couple of the one the outfits that didn't make the cut for Easter this year.

We even got home by about 4PM.
The kids played outside for the rest of the afternoon.
And, two of them even brought me flowers.

love them (even when they were picked from my begonia plant)

Sunday, March 15, 2015--
On Sunday, we took the youth to work at our local UMCOR ( United Methodist Committee On Relief) Center.  Prying open flood buckets to check the contents was not the easiest job we have ever had.
But so worth it.
These will be shipping out soon to someone who is in need!

73/365..... great group of hard workers

Monday, March 16, 2015 --
Monday was a beautiful day weather wise.
I worked and took care of Allie's pump issues then got everyone to their Monday activities.
This was the beginning of the sunset that evening.

Allie had some pump issues on this day.
She called me around 9am to come help her at school.
I went to school to change her set. We did it as best we had learned and I left with the council to let me know how things go at lunch.
I came back to work for a bit and then headed to the next town over to get groceries.
I had just pulled into the parking lot, when she called and said her pump wasn't delivering insulin.
Hubs was visiting someone at the hospital in Charlotte instead of being in his office so I drove the way back to Allie's school to figure it all out.
After an unsuccessful attempt at fixing it at school, I finally checked her out.
We came home and called our wonderful Medtronic coach, Kari, who walked us through another set change and we finally got it all taken care of.

74/365....  After it was all fixed. whew.

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 --
This boy brought his Leprechaun trap home from school.
Unfortunately, he didn't catch the Leprechaun.
Even though he had left a note telling the Leprechaun not to push the stick ( Leprechauns never follow directions).
The Leprechaun did, however, step on his trap.
See that footprint?

St. Patrick's Day 2015

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 --
I went on a chilly fieldtrip to uptown Charlotte with my Maggie on this day.
It was chilly but a fun morning.

I was even able to check Maggie out after the field trip was over and we met our friend Wendy for lunch before heading home. Great day with my girl.

76/365..... LOVE uptown Charlotte

Thursday, March 19, 2015 --
After work and school, it was time for Lillie's last indoor soccer game of the year.
These two enjoyed ice cream at Jason's Deli after supper before heading to the game.
We didn't win, but it was a great indoor season.
Lillie learned a lot and that is what is most important.

I arrived home to find this package.  I was so excited to get my new sign.

77/365...."He's the King, I tell you."

Friday, March 20, 2015 -- On Friday, Ken and I made a trip to Raleigh to pick up our new van.
We had been driving the same van for almost 10 years and it was time for a new car.
We put it off as long as possible.
I am loving my new Grand Caravan!!

Goodbye to our older blue van.  It was a good one.
Not sure I will miss it and all of the leaks as of late though.

78/365.....the end of an era.

 Saturday, March 21, 2015 --
We were up at the crack of dawn on Saturday.
I was up to head to Aquire The Fire with our 11th/12th grade small group and Allie was up for Science Olympiads.
She left at 6:30AM.
She was very excited about it, too.
Aquire the Fire was a great event with our 11th/12th small group girls.
We got home at about 11:00PM.
The theme of the day was Reslient.

79/365...... new read.

Sunday, March 22, 2015 -
We spent our youth meeting this afternoon filling Easter Eggs for the upcoming Easter Event.
So. so. many. eggs.

80/365....... working hard to finish.

Monday, March 23, 2015 -
It was the first day of a new week and it was the start of the week before our Easter Event. Which meant it was go time.
It was a long, busy, chaotic day.
What a treat to get home and find a package from my sweet friend Kristin.
She had made a book of her photography ( she is awesome at it!) with scripture for each one.
When I sent her a thank you, she said she wanted each of her pastor's families to have one as a thank you for 'all we have done'.
All we have done has been through Christ alone, but what a wonderful blessing to be thought of.
Finding this package gave me strength to carry on through the rest of my evening which included lots of places to be.

81/365......Finally walked in at....(excuse the dust. Need to clean the microwave)

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 --
work, work, work.
But finding selfies like this one my phone make me smile.

Teens and preteens can be hard.....I get a lot of looks like this one lately.

82/365.... humph.

Wednesday, March 25, 2015 -
Hair cut this morning.
LOVE getting my hair done.

Then we took Allie to our appointment to get her Continual Glucose Monitor.
She is the bravest girl I know.
She doesn't even flinch when sticking these needles/tubes into her body.
And she does it without tears or complaint

83/365....  proud of her!

Thursday, March 26, 2015 --
Heather and I spent a lot of Thursday making a tomb for our Easter Event.
It really turned out great.

After working all day and grabbing supper, it was back to church for Bible Study.
It was a warn day and the kiddos got to spend a few minutes playing on the playground.

84/365.....this was just before the grabbing hands made Brady almost flipped right out of his swing.

Friday, March 27, 2015 --
Friday was spent setting up for our Easter Eggstravaganza that would be on Saturday.
This was the incredible sun set as we were beginning to finish up.

A good end to the day....
85/ of my favorite movies.

Busy, busy two weeks.
Hoping this Holy Week, I can truly focus on Jesus and have some quiet!

Moments {3.14.15}

After three weeks of unexpected down time, this week was back to the busy norm.
If not busier.  Whew.

These are the moments that I managed  to capture this week.

Saturday, March 7, 2015 --
Maggie still had her friend Chloe over on Saturday morning.
They had a great time playing and making their project for school.
This is a picture of them demonstrating their fishing project.
Made from a tupperware container full of water colored blue.
They attached magnets to plastic fish and made a fishing pole with another magnet attached.
A lego girl holds the fishing pole while standing on the dock they made out of popsicles sticks.

65/365.....clever girls.

I had to run to Target to do some shopping and get a birthday present.
While there, I found this awesome lantern in the newly brought out garden section for spring.
I loved it and knew it needed to come home and decorate my porch.

Sunday, March 8, 2015 --
Sunday brought daylight savings time.
I just wanted more sleep on Sunday morning.
At least the view was gorgeous when  I got up.....

We are in the midst of our March Mission Madness with our youth.  We were working at our own church doing work outside and I knew it would be a hard sell.
As did the other leaders, because one of them brought his camping stove and supplies to make s'mores for those who came.

66/365..... great surprise!

 Monday, March 9, 2015 --
Once I got everyone off to school on Monday, I began to look at my calendar for the week.
loads of appointments and things to do.

I worked and then got groceries as is my usual routine on Mondays.
Picked up kids on my way back.

I had book club that evening.
We were discussing "The Greatest Generation" by Tom Browkaw.
We always have the best discussions and such a great time together.
Time well spent and a great way to begin the week for me!

67/365.....I came home with three more books to read.

Tuesday, March 10, 2015 --
Tuesday morning, I worked for a while and then went to get Allie from school.
She had an appointment to get her pump (finally) and see her Endocrinologist.
She was very excited.
In a couple of weeks we go back to get her Continual Glucose Monitor.
Which will make this Mama rest easier.
We got home just in time to eat supper which I had put in the crockpot  before leaving home that morning.
Then it was time to rush off for evening activities.
Ken had a meeting and Allie had her small group.
Brady had a soccer game, so the rest of us headed off for that.
You can't tell in this picture, but Brady played indoor soccer on a team that let him "play up".
Meaning that everyone else on his team, and the opposing them, is older that him.
Sometimes by as much as 4-5 years.
I am so proud of how he gets in there and plays with no regard at all for the opposing players size.

68/365.....brave boy

Wednesday, March 11, 2015 --

On Wednesday, I worked all day trying to get some things done!
Then, our friend Courtney came for a visit!
We went out to supper together and then came back to the house for a quick game of charades before we had to head to church and she had to head home.

69/365......We love Courtney!

 Thursday, March 12, 2015 --
On Thursday, I worked for a couple of hours and then had to get Allie out of school again for an orthodontist appointment.
After the appointment I ran her back to school and worked for a while more before heading back to pick up everyone from school.
In my timehop feed on Thursday, I found this.
How have 6 years gone by so fast?
Look at my tiny people....

On Thursday afternoon, I helped Brady make a rainbow to go on his Leprechaun Trap that he was going to make on Friday at school.
He was very excited about this project.  Telling me all about how he hoped to catch a Leprechaun and that he planned to write the Leprechaun a note telling him "Do NOT Knock down the Stick" because Leprechaun's are known to do exactly the opposite of what they are told to do.

70/365...... planning his trap!

Friday, March 13, 2015 --
On Friday,  Ken and I went up to Greensboro to walk through his grandmother's home.
One of the things I brought back with me was this stole.
I found that it has her initials monogrammed on the inside of it.
I will treasure it.

Once we were home and had picked up the kids, we headed out to grab some supper before going to see our friends in a local production of Robin Hood.
We had three friends in this production. And all three were wonderful!!!

Our friend Madi was a Merry Woman.
Elli was a Rat Seller in the town.
And Parker was

71/365..... the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Another busy, crazy week has come to an end.
Can't wait to see what moments I capture this week!

Saturday, March 7, 2015

Moments {3.6.15}

Each week, I try to take a picture to remember each day by.
Maybe sometime in the future, we will make a book out of them all to remember the years by.

Here is what our week has looked like.

Saturday, February 28, 2015 --
On Saturday, I still wasn't feeling well so we just hung out around the  house.
Our kids love to make up plays and perform them for us.
This was at the end of another successful performance.

dance party.

I am the worst to get caught up in reading a book.
DO you do that?
I should have been sleeping, instead -- I was up too late reading.

Sunday, March 1, 2015 --
Church and then off with the youth to work with at a local Soup Kitchen.
SO proud of all the work they did!

great group of youth

Monday, March 2, 2015 --
On Monday, we were back to our 'normal' routine.
Work, school, piano lessons, tumbling.....
It was warm enough outside to practice catching.

60/365.... one more year of tee-ball for this boy starts soon.

A friend of mine was telling me about George Straight's last concert on CMT.
He made me want to watch.
SO, I watching on Youtube.
And as usual, the king didn't disappoint.
My favorite parts were when he sang The Chair and his duet with Martina McBride when they sang Jackson. So good!

Tuesday, March 3, 2015 --
On Sunday morning, between services we learned that my husbands 98 year old grandmother had passed away.
After school on Tuesday, we headed up to Greensboro for the Visitation.
These were some of the the little people there...

After the visitation, we went back to Granddad and Nana LeeAnne's house to get a good nights rest.

ready for bed.

Wednesday, March 4, 2015 --
We got up and had a quiet morning before getting ready to head over to the funeral.
We got this shot of my family before we left.
I can't help but wonder how time passes so quickly.

Ken didn't officiate the service but he did give the eulogy.
He did an incredible job speaking about his grandmother.
Our sweet church folks sent flowers and hubs was given his grandmother's well worn Bible.

Thursday, March 5, 2015 --
Back to work and school for everyone on Thursday.
We had a busy evening so we made a quick trip to get something to eat.
This kid.
Cat naps aren't for him.
He was GRUMPY by the time we ordered our food.

Thankfully, by bedtime he was all smiles.
He loves doing his devotion each night.
I love doing it with him and hearing his thoughts.

63/365....sweet time.

Friday, March 6, 2015 --
On Friday, Maggie and I were supposed to go on a field-trip.
But, since it was an outside field-trip and the weather was COLD, mercifully, it was cancelled.
Hubs and I spent the day together running some errands and spending much needed quality time together.
It was a great day.

I erased my "Let it snow" chalkboard because let's face it.
I am a southern girl and I have had enough of the white stuff for this year!
Bring on Spring.

64/365....Lenten Chalkboard

Last night I worked in our churches' Youth Center as I do once a month.
It was extra fun last night because I had these two great chicks helping out.
Love them!

It has been a bitter sweet week for sure.
We are sad that Mama Bea is no longer with us.
We all loved her so.
But, we rest and praise God that she is with him now and is no longer in daily pain.
