Moments {2.28.14}

And, just like that, it's been a week since I've blogged.
I have even had some things to share.
Just didn't share it.
Busyness and this cold my kids have passed on to me have kept me from doing any blogging.
It's also kept me from getting great pictures this week.

None the less, here are the moments of our lives this week.

Saturday, February 22, 2014 --
On Saturday, we went to a skating party for a friend from church.

53/365....My girls and the birthday girl.
She has a tight grip on Lillie's

Another busy day of church.
Lillie handed me her Sunday school paper after church.
I loved her answer to this question.

54/365....after all of the church stuff was done for the day, we headed off to see one of the local high school's production of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.
Two of our youth were in the play.
They both did a fabulous job!

Monday, February 24, 2014 --
a busy day getting things done.
Late night grocery planning is not my idea of fun.
But was necessary this week.

55/365....SO this came home from preschool today.
My baby is going to graduate from preschool.
It. is. heartbreaking and exciting all at once.....

Tuesday, February 25, 2014 --
On Tuesday, I broke out my running shoes after two weeks of not running.
But I did it.

56/365.... roses that the girls brought home for me.
So pretty....

Wednesday, February 26, 2014--
The chalkboard that I ordered with gift cards from Christmas and my birthday arrived today.
I knew just what to put on it.....

57/365.... and where it would hang in my kitchen.
I have big plans for this space.
Now, I could just find someone who would build for me.....
Thursday, February 27, 2014--
Siri never understands me.
I had asked her a complete sentence that didn't even include the word "you're".
And she was downright snippy.

58/365......Maggie's project for school......Learned vs Inherited traits.....
the only inherited things she got from me seems to be her personality....

Friday, February 28, 2014 --
A trip to Hobby Lobby with these two this afternoon....

59/365....and supper out as a family.
Chili's is our kids favorite place.

It's been such a busy week and the weekend promises to be just as busy.
Lent is coming so very soon that I don't see things slowing down until after Easter.
But, we have some great things coming up at our church during Lent and I can't wait to see what God has for us all through it all.

Moments {2.21.14}

Every Friday I share pictures.
Snapshots of the moments of our week.
Hoping to make a book of them at the end of the year.
This has been a 'regular, run of the mill' kind of week for us.
Thankful for an uneventful one......

Saturday, February 15, 2014 --
A day spent getting ready for a new ministry beginning at our church, called The Bridge.
Can you guess what our theme was?

46/ seeing them do devotions....especially without being prompted.

Sunday, February 16, 2014--
wow. long day.

47/365.....The first meeting of The Bridge was such fun.
The Wacky Wax Paper Olympics were a hit.

Monday, February 17, 2014 --
'Good Luck Charlie' was the only show on Disney that I remotely approved of.
The series finale aired on Sunday evening.
I recorded it for the kids and we all watched it on Monday evening.
I'm kinda gonna miss this show....

48/ of the books I am currently reading my way through.
Taking loads of notes....

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 --
another busy day.
We had a meeting that ran right up to supper time and Daddy had another one immediately following.
So the kids and I went to McAllister's for supper
and made a quick stop at Old Navy to do a bit of shopping.
Fun night!

49/365......Twelve can be hard.  But it is also beautiful......just as she is.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 --
As I said above twelve can be tough and it was a rough beginning to our week last week.
I sent this to Allie on Instagram.
I want her to know this is how I see her.
It's how I see all 3 of my girls....

50/365......It was such a warm day we played outside.....

Thursday, February 20, 2014 --
Another incredibly warm day.
Record setting highs in fact.
Maggie brought we this little flower.
Wishing it was the beginning of warm weather for good.
Though, I hear the Polar Vortex is on it's way back next week....

51/365.......ready for dance class.

Friday, February 21, 2014--
We got an impromptu date night because a sweet friend invited all 4 of our kids over for the afternoon
and they have stayed into evening.
We had a nice afternoon alone and even went out to supper.
Came home and we did a bit of house cleaning.
 He mopped.
He knows I hate to mop.
Love that he does that for me.

52/365...... Sailboats and the lake at the start of twilight.....

Thursday Links

Earlier this week, I came across this blog post about Scott Hamilton's faith.
I was intrigued because I didn't even know that he was a Christian.
After watching the video, I found that there is a whole lot I didn't know about Scott Hamilton.
Check it out.....

And then today, I came across this series at Momestry.
It is called The Sacred Scared.
And today's post really touched my heart.
Being able to admit what your scared of it hard.
At least it has been throughout my life.
I look forward to the rest of this series.

Check them both out if you have time this evening.
I promise both will be a blessing.

2014 Winter Games {in our backyard}

As I shared last week, it snowed around here.
It started snowing on Wednesday afternoon and we got about 3 inches that day.

This is my family trying to sled out there.

We woke to more snow coming down on Thursday morning.

They enjoyed watching it.

Finally, the snow was coming down hard and we were all quite excited.

So pretty....

After breakfast, we headed outside.
Some of our neighbors came over and we had a blast.
There were snow ball fights....

and loads of sledding.

They worked hard at making a good sledding track....

and at throwing snowballs.
Love this shot of my girl, Allie!

They made jumps on the sledding hill, too.
Maggie was great at getting 'air'.

Brady had a blast sledding over and over down the hill.

Brady's buddy came over and they had so much fun together.

Trouble was that the two littlest were so light, they didn't make it over the jumps so easily.

Lillie snowboarding on her sled.

Allie stalled out on the jump.

These next two shots may be my favorite of the whole day....

It was such a fun morning.

11 inches of snow or more.....

Priceless time with my family!!
