Where's My Head?

It's been two weeks since I've blogged.  To say that I've been running around like a chicken-with-my-head-cut-off might even be an understatement.
Since I wrote last, I've.....

attended 2 -tball games
and worked concessions for an hour after one of them.

We had an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt at church
It was great fun!

We went to a local minor league baseball game the same night so Brady could run the field and go on the field with the players {that part,  Brady refused to do}.

I've been on two field trips.
Math Day at the Mall with Allie and the fifth graders which I don't have a picture of.
a long day trip to Raleigh with Maggie and the fourth graders.

and then packed Allie for a trip to Washington DC.

Not to mention our normal scheduled things like gymnastics, church softball games, choir practice and bible studies.{yes, more than one}

Two other things I've done that I will be sharing more about in the days to come are these.
I've ran 21.6 miles which included my first 5K.
I helped give my sweet friend a baby shower.

Yep! Life's been super busy.
Can't wait to tell you guys about the 5K and the baby shower.
Hoping I can do that this week as soon as I find my head....
It seems like we've slowed down a tiny little bit.

T-ball Love

I accidentally took a hiatus from blogging over the last week and a half.
I often take weekends off from posting but then hubs left on a mission trip a week ago this past Sunday for a whole week.
And by the time I got everyone in bed in the evenings that week, I was too tired to worry about anything else.
Except intruders.
Because I'm a chicken.
I really dislike being home alone.
I worry about things when I'm here alone that I don't even think about otherwise.

Anyways - back to what I wanted to write about today.
Yesterday evening was Brady's first t-ball game.
We were unsure what was going to happen because he had been telling us since his last practice, on Thursday of last week, that he was NOT playing in the game.
His reasoning was that he couldn't run....

I may or may not have bribed him with a trip to the concession stand after the game if he would just go out and play last night.....

He agreed.
So, off we went ready for our first t-ball game experience.

Here he is warming up.

Then the game started and we were in the field first.
They put my boy on the pitchers mound, which - if you know anything about t-ball is the position {along with first base} that sees the most action.
The first two batters got up.
They hit.
Brady just stood there.
Finally, on the third batter he decided to get the ball and throw to first!

In t- ball, the whole team bats and no one really counts outs or runs.
There are no umpires.
But at least they are learning the basics of baseball.

The teams switched places and Brady came up to bat.
He hit the ball and was encouraged loudly to RUN!
He finally did and ended up on first.

When he got there, the first base coach was telling him where to go next.
See Brady pointing?

When he made it to third, he spent some time fraternizing with the enemy. ;)
Seriously, these two were in their own little conversation world.
They had to be stopped so Brady could run home.

 Which he did.
But he was out.
Good thing they don't worry about such trivial things.

Everyone batted and it was time for the second inning.
Here is a collage of the many things Brady did while in the field.
OH, he was moved from the pitchers mound to second base.....
So, he had some more time on his hands.
Which he used to play in the dirt, sing to himself and pretend to be shooting things with his fingers....

This was on his next time batting.
While in the batters box, he stopped to ham it up for me.

and to pretend the bat was a gun.....

In the second and third inning, his coaches actually pitched the ball to them before bringing out the tee.
In the second inning he hit the ball that was pitched to him!

Here are his sisters -- cheering him on from the fence while he was on third base.
They stayed around long enough to see him bat and make it back to home before they went back to play on the playground.

In the third inning, Brady missed all three pitches but got at good hit off the tee.

After three innings the game was over.
Everyone lined up to show some good sportsmanship.
Which is kind of easy when everyone thinks they won! =)

Here's our happy ball player with his Daddy after the game.

I think he might even play the game on Friday with out having to be bribed with candy.

And this Mama, who loves baseball, is so very happy about that!!

10,000 Reasons

Today has been a long day and I have a splitting head ache tonight
probably from all the pollen.
But, I'm trying not to dwell on it.

This song is helping me tonight.......

Last Week.....

This past week was Spring Break around these parts. The kids and I made a quick trip to Georgia to visit family.
We arrived Monday evening and spent that evening with my Mom and stepdad  (Grammy and Granddaddy) and my brother.
I neglected to get any pics of them with the kids this time. =/
On Tuesday, we had a cookout at Grammy and Granddaddy's house.
My cousin brought her boys up and my stepsister and her family came, too.
The kids had a grand time playing together and the burgers were great!
This is the best pic we got of the kids.
Little JP was trying to escape...

Also, on Tuesday we went to see my Grandparents.
I know how truly blessed I am to still have a set of grandparents living.
They are 88 and 90 years old.
My Pa has Dementia and doesn't remember his grandchildren anymore.
But you wouldn't be able to tell it by this picture.
I love that my kids will be able to remember their great grandparents, too.
We visit with them as often as possible.

Aren't they cute?
My Granny takes such good care of my Pa.

On Wednesday, my Dad and his girlfriend, Sandra ( PawPaw and NaNa) took us all to the movies.
We saw the Croods.
The kids giggled all the way through it.
We then went to dinner (Red Lobster, yum)
and back to visit for a while before heading back to Grammy's to get some rest.

Thursday morning after a yummy breakfast of waffles made by Granddaddy and Maggie, we headed home.
In the rain and fog and sleet and generally bad weather.

It was a super short visit but so nice to see everyone.
My kids are blessed with 4 sets of grandparents, one set of great grandparents, and another great grandmother.
They are loved.
Thank you all for loving them so well! <3 p="">

My Instagram Life ~ 4.5.13

I've been out of town since Monday and arrived home yesterday evening.
Here are some of the pics I took with my phone in the past week......
Linking up at Life Rearranged.....
life rearranged

Last Sunday after church, I asked the kids to go stand by the  crosses so I could get a quick pic.
They did this just to be silly.
But, I love it!!

On Monday we drove to Georgia to my Mom's house.
One of the things I love best about her house is the view.
She lives on the bluff of a mountain and there are always beautiful sunsets and views to be seen.
This was on Monday night when we arrived.

On Tuesday we went to visit my grandparents.
My Mom's parents are 88 and 90 years old.
My grandfather is slowly going back in time.  He has dementia  (anyone know the difference between dementia and Alzheimer's?  I  don't understand why they don't say he has Alzheimer's....)
He no longer knows his grandchildren.
My Granny takes care of him so very well.
But I cherish all of the time I get to see them both.
And my Granny gave us several pints of her homemade jelly.
It is delicious!!!

Another view off the deck.
It's kind of "fuzzy" because I took it from the kitchen window.
My stepdad was cooking burgers on the grill for us and Brady was 'helping' him.
They were taking in the awesome view together and Granddaddy was pointing out places in the valley to Brady.
So sweet.

This was taken on my long, rainy drive home yesterday.
It was so stinking foggy.  Raining and sleeting, too. And cold
Was never more happy to have a warm bath than last night.

I've found that I have a hole in my "everyday" tennis shoes.
They are my "everyday" tennis shoes because they are the ones I use for walking and wearing.
Remember, I have special running shoes.
Because my sweet friends take care of me that way.
Anyways, see that pink spot?
That's my toe sticking out.
Apparently, my baby toe sticks out and punches holes in my tennis shoes...

My husbands mom is getting ready to sell her house and in preparation has been going through her attic.
When we visited last weekend, she had two boxes for Ken to bring home and go through.
He and the kids did that this afternoon.
We are retro game rich around here now......
I'm really excited about the light brite -- I have some more of that stuff in my dad's attic.
Makes me wanna go through it all and find my light brite. and my Pucci dog....anyone know what I'm talking about?  White dog with pink ears? She was my fav....

That's it for this week.
Hope you all had a great week.
Spring Break is now over and time to hit it hard for the last 6 1/2 weeks of school.

Starting Monday.
We plan to enjoy our weekend.
