My Instagram Life - 9.28.12

It's been another busy week around here.....
Here are some of my favorite moments caught by Instagram......

Brady likes to watch Calliou in the afternoons.
I think Calliou is the whiniest kid ever and will be happy when he outgrows him. I think.
After Calliou went off, he was dancing with the PBS kids.....so sweet!

These three books came in a box with a smile on it this week.
And their arrival made me smile.
Look forward to reading them all.
My stack of  "to-read" is growing larger......

The girls school had a fundraiser this week. Each day had a special theme and the kids had to pay $1 to participate.  Maggie participate every day. The other two only once or twice each which I love. I love that they are all so different from one another.....
This was Wacky Hair day......

One of the things I'm loving most about my new town, is the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that I've been seeing.   Our house faces the east.  love!!

Beginning to see some color in the trees.
SO excited about that.
I love Fall!

Yesterday.
OH, yesterday.
Yesterday! I met up with a couple of sweet friends and went to Trader Joe's in Charlotte.
It was my first visit and can I just say, I loved that place.

Then we went to lunch and spent some time catching up.
When I lived in Belmont our girls danced together and we Mom's did bible study together.
It was a great time catching up!
SO fun!
Can't wait to do it again!

This morning....
The boys headed off to Tweetsie Railroad. Brady's first trip
while the girls sat outside waiting to catch the bus.
I have had a leisurely morning of drinking coffee and catching up on my blog reading.

Now, it's time for me to get myself in gear.
First up, run walking on the tread mill.
Then after a shower {because being sweaty = gross}
and getting ready, I will be making pizza dough for tonight's family night.

That's what we've been doing this week.
What have you been up to?

Brady's First Soccer Game

We signed Brady up to play soccer this year.
He team is the Penguins.

This past Saturday was his first game.
Before the game was warm up time....

which was pretty well organized.....

Then it was time to gather on the sidelines to get ready to start the game.

Here is his coach telling him where to go.....

and then the game started and chaos ensued.
The is the U6 league.
Look how tiny my boy is.....
That #6 on the other team, he was good.

He did get in there and kick the ball......
some.

and he ran....
some.

but he stood and looked a lot, too.b

This is the coach walking him to his spot......
when you are 4, you get tired easily....=)

This is him kicking the ball in......

And this is what happened the whole game....
the soccer star from the other team always scored.....

But, when you are 4, losing is not so bad!
It's the snack afterwards that matters the most!

Catching Up

Wow. I haven't blogged in a week.
Every year around the beginning of August, I start longing for schedules again.
Then, the schedules come and life gets hectic  and I halfway wish for things to slow down again.
But -- only halfway.
I really like my schedules.....

So, here's a quick catch up post through IPhone photos....

I finally got a hair cut and color.
I love it.
SO, so thankful that I've moved close enough to my amazing hairdresser from when we lived in Drexel to go back to her!!!

I went to Greensboro for lunch with Nana LeeAnne.
She had never eaten Chinese food before.
So, we ate at P.F. Changs.
She loved her chicken dish
and I, of course, had lettuce wraps. My fav!!
We also practiced using the chop sticks....
and then shopped for a bit.
Great day!!

I've been enjoying some incredible sunsets like this one....

My sweet boy played his first soccer game.
SO cute!!

My best friend came into town over the weekend.
We had a fantastic time.
Friday night, we did some shopping at Target, World Market and some other fun places....
and went to supper.
We had a fun evening catching up and being silly!!
the mustache lives on......

On Saturday, we made a trip down to South Park Mall.
We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory....
where salads are  stacked about a foot high.....

And did some shopping.
Saw these shoes.....$3000......seriously.

We saw these shoes that I like a whole lot more.....
but, alas. They are $500.....

I also loved these butterflies in Neiman Marcus.....
beautiful!

We had the best time shopping around in the mall and not buying a thing.
Then we came back and spent some time with my kids.
They love my sweet friend, too!

and another beautiful sunset on Saturday night.

A sweet lady from church, brought us homemade rolls yesterday morning.
They were delicious.  SO very good!!

And this morning, I drove up to Boone for lunch with my mentor, and friend, Kellie.
It was a blessed time for me and something I look forward to doing again soon.
It was a cool, crisp fall morning in Boone.
LOVE!!!

SO, that gets me all caught up.
Can't wait to hear what you all have been up to in the past week!!!

Stepping out of "UR".....

SO, last night was the first night that my bible study group got together.
We did have an orientation about a week and a half ago, but last night was our first night of discussion.
I love discussing our last five days of homework and hearing what God has been speaking to each of us throughout the week.
We are doing The Patriarchs Study by Beth Moore.
This past week we have been talking about Abraham and his call to leave Ur of the Chaldeans and GO.....

One way that we related this to ourselves is to talk about our own "UR's" or Usual Routines that God may be calling us to leave behind.  Telling us to GO.

I  came across this blog post this afternoon by Joy, from Graceful Mama and I desperately want to share it with all of the girls who are doing this study with us.

GO read it now!!!
Even if you aren't in this bible study I promise you will be blessed by Joy's post.
It is definitely worth your time!

Girls, God may not be calling you to go to Indonesia to be a missionary but He is certainly calling us all to GO.

To leave our comfortable, usual routines, our ruts, and GO  to the place HE is leading you to.

What are your UR's that you need to leave?
Where is He calling you to GO?

This study certainly has me thinking about all of this for myself!!
{If you are if you are in The Patriarch's study, please pass this one to everyone else}
Even if you're not in this study with me right now, pass this on.
You'll be blessed by Joy's words and her willingness to
GO!!

These Kids.....

These kids fight like cats and dogs.....
but sometimes, they get along great

These kids melt my heart {all of the time}

These kids jumped right in when I asked  for an impromptu photo shoot {this time}

These kids make me crazy......

These kids stretch me and challenge me to be a better Mom....

These kids love me {regardless of me}....

These kids are growing up too quickly....

Right....

Before
 My Very

Eyes.....

Praying tonight that the Lord will help me to not take one single moment for granted....

Sunday Softball Cookout

This afternoon we had the privilege of attending our church softball team cookout.
It was such fun!
There were lots of flips being done.....

loads of  hula hoop contests...

Maggie was a part of every one!

Playing in the lake

swimming....

and getting to know people better.

My family and I had a great time at the cookout.
It was wonderful to be there and get to know folks more.
It is really hard to get to know people on Sunday mornings because there isn't much time to do a lot of talking then. So, being invited to events like the cookout this afternoon is something we relish because it is where we can really get to know people.
It was a fantastic afternoon.

We then came home and the kids asked to have a picnic outside for supper.
This is how I found them when I walked out there.

They had a picnic
and had a good time just watching the traffic go by. HA!

It was a really great Sunday.
I'm thankful for it!!
