My Instagram Life {8.31.12 Edition}

life rearranged

On Sunday night, we began our new bible study.....53 people, ya'll!!!
God is going to do some awesome work in each one of these women and in our church!!
I'm so excited to be part of it!!!

With the start up of fall activities,
my to do list has gotten so long each day.
This was Monday's list.....
Yes, I'm tired.....

My sweet boy turned 4 last Sunday.
He's such fun!!!

While running some errands this week, I ran into Subway to get some Sweet Tea.
Yep, this is a SUBWAY.
Hands down, the nicest Subway I've ever been in.

I'm making  a concerted effort to have my family eat meatless one night a week.
They are not thrilled.
I, however, push forward with my family's health spurring me on.
This was the beginnings of a Mushroom Potpie.

It turned out delish!!!

Allie has ballet class on Wednesday nights for two hours.
This past Wednesday, I found myself all alone with two hours to kill at suppertime.
I ate Mexican. Alone.
With no one whining at me....
It was glorious.

And to top it all off, there was a beautiful sunset!!!

My husband went to the store and brought these home about a week or so ago.
I've done great at resisting until last night.....
I could no longer resist.

Have I told you all how much I LOVE my new wrap?!!?!
Terrible photo of me but look at the wrap!!!

I found a great new app today.
It's called Red Stamp.
It sends cute cards that you can add your own pics to.
Love. it.!!

Grammy and Granddaddy arrived this afternoon with presents for this boy.
YEAY for presents!!

We had an awesome supper of Spaghetti and Meatballs with homemade Parker Style Yeast Rolls,
hung out for a while and then it was time for bedtime snacks.

We are so glad they are here for the weekend.
Tomorrow we plan on spending the day on the lake in their boat.
Sunday we will worship together and with another set of grandparents for the day.
Then it's date night for hubs and I --Grammy and Granddaddy have agreed to babysit!!

Looking forward to an awesome Labor Day Weekend......
What have you been up to this week?

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!!!!!

White House Black Market is having an awesome sale!!!

I  bought this awesome bathing suit today for less than $20!!!!

I cannot tell you how long it has been since I bought a new swimsuit.
It's been  a long time.
A long time.....

Like 12 years long.

SO, to get a cute swimsuit like this for such a great price is awesome.
I love the color......

Go check out the sale. You won't be sorry.
Your welcome!!

Tuesday .....

 I wondered
Who pays $290 for sunglasses?!?!
I mean these sunglasses are cute and all, but really?!?
for sunglasses?

I  buy sunglasses at Wal*mart because I lose them almost as quick as I get them....

Besides that, though, I'm just amazed that there are sunglasses that cost that much.

*I have been trying to learn to run.
I know, I have often said I would never run but
from all I've read it is good exercise and it burns the most calories in the shortest amount of time so....
there's that.
I'm actually walk/running.
I upped my time today to run 3 minutes, walk 5 minutes.
I did 3.5 miles that way.
YEAY, me.

that I made this cupcake bow.

It's been a while since I made a bow.
My girls won't wear them much anymore.
Sad, I know.

*Today, our friend Cassie came for a visit.
We miss her and all of us were very happy to see her.
We played Beatles Rock Band.

We had the best time.
Sorry that it turns sideways after the first couple of seconds.....
I thought it would correct itself.
I was wrong.

*Today, I'm thankful for my sweet  friend Kelly
who made me this from just a picture.

I love it and I think she's pretty amazing!

*NOW, the last thing for today.
I'm off to work on my bible study.
We are doing the Patriarchs by Beth Moore
and we had 53 of us attend our orientation
I cannot wait to see what God is going to do within this group!

I had a great Tuesday!!
Hope you had a great Tuesday, too!

Is I Four Yet?

Early yesterday morning....

I sang Happy Birthday to this sweet boy....

and he said, "Is I four yet?"

Yes, baby, yes you are!!

We had already had his party a while back.
So, after church yesterday, he got to choose where we went ate lunch.
His choice?

And this afternoon, he and I had a quick little photo shoot

And as I looked through the lens of my camera,
I couldn't believe how big he's gotten.

Yes, my baby is four now.

Camp Meeting

Do you know what camp meetings are?
Here's a link that will tell you more about the history of them, but in short, they are like revivals but you go to the camp meeting and stay in tents for the duration.

There are two great camp meetings here locally. One is Rock Springs Camp Meeting  which I did not get to attend this year, but hubs did.
The other is Ball Creek Camp Meeting. Hubs attended earlier in the week, but last night we took the whole family. This is only the second camp meeting I've ever been to and it was the first one at a campground.

This was the first thing I saw when I walked it.
While I'm in complete agreement,
It did give me a little chuckle....

We walked around through the tents for a while.

It was really awesome seeing all the different tents.
There were hundreds of them.

We finally made our way over to The Shack
to eat supper.
We feasted on hotdogs, burgers, fries and grilled chicken (for me).

I love the fans that were in the pews in the Arbor.
They reminded me of being in church as a child before we had air conditioning in church....
my grandmother always had a paper fan.

The Arbor was in the center of the campground.
It was truly beautiful!

After supper it was time for the Singing to start.
Last night was a Singer/Songwriters round.
I really didn't know what to expect but was delighted by what it was!!!
These two beautiful ladies were AMAZING.
They are Jessica Campbell and Christa Wells.
Both are singers and songwriters and both were sooooo good!

Do yourself a favor and go check their music out!
You can listen to Jessica here.
And Christa here.
I loved every minute of it!

Jessica is actually a local girl.
You can read the article she did with a local paper about being home for camp meeting.  It's great!

Hubs and I got up and went to find our girls {who were enjoying their freedom to walk around with their friend}  right before the last song.
Word has it that at the end there was a proposal from the stage.
Sorry I missed it!!

We then found the girls in their friend, Baileys, tent with two more new friends.
They all then had some ice cream and played games.

Hubs and I went outside and sat and talked with Bailey's grandparents and several other church members.
Which is where I learned that while Camp Meeting is certainly about good sermons and good singing, it is also about good family fellowship.

We had a great evening!!

Cannot wait to visit both camp meetings next year!!

InstaFriday - Thing I love Edition

life rearranged

This week for InstaFriday,
you are going to learn about a few things I love.
And yes, all of these pics were taken this week......

 I love cheese.
and I miss this cheese case that they had at Ingles.
Though Harris Teeter has a pretty good one. Just not as big.....

I love Starbucks.
Especially for driving home on rainy Sundays.....

I love this silly little boy.
The blur who was wearing my glasses...

I love to buy local and organic produce as much as possible.
A sweet church member brought us some homegrown honey this week!!!

I love watching children learn.
He was learning about a tiny lizard we found on the porch.

I love fall.
It's coming.....

I love sweet tea!
But most places make their tea too sweet for me, so I ask for half and half.

What are some things you loved this week?!?

Longing for Fall.....

It happens every year about this time.
I know it's only mid August, but every year about this time,
I start longing for Fall.
Fall is my most favorite season of the year.....
And, slowly but surely it's coming!!!!

Today the high temp here was only 80 degrees
and by 7PM it was down in the 70's.
THAT is glorious weather!!
It's made me want Fall even more!!

There are many, many reasons why I'm looking forward to Fall.
Here are just a few.... or ten.....

1.  Do you see that?
Look closely......
The leaves are starting to change!!!
I love the colors of fall!
2. The smell of fall.
Seriously, is there anything better?

3.  Cooler Weather!!

4..  Cooler weather means fall clothes
and I love my fall clothing.
I love warm and cozy sweaters and I can't wait to wear them.

5. and.  Boots, of course!!

 6.   I can't wait to decorate my house for fall!
Some amazing fall smelling candles are in order!!

7.  Fall brings the schedule back!!
With the start of school, and the kids activities starting back up, my schedule returns and this girl thrives on a schedule.

8.    Fall typically brings a new bible study for me and this year is no exception.
I will be co-leading Beth Moore's The Patriarchs.
I love getting into the Word with other women
This time is special because I get to study with and get to know a brand new group of ladies!!
I've done this study before and I know what great stuff is in it.
I can't wait to dive right in again!!!  He is EL this study and you will know what that means =)

9.  FALL COFFEE FLAVORS --- like Pumpkin Spice.
It's already out at Target and I've already snatched some up
and am enjoying it daily..... YUM!

10.  New seasons of my favorite shows!!
One of my favs --- like I don't ever want to miss it is
The Big Bang Theory.
Seriously, it's so funny.....
BFF told me that the premiere is Sept. 27.....
that's seems so far away.....but it's coming......
This is a clip of my favorite moment from the finale last year.
Check it out!!

Fall is coming!
And I couldn't be happier!!!!

Southern Life

Was looking for something on the internet tonight and found this poem......
If you want a glimpse of Southern life,
Come close and walk with me;
I’ll tell you all the simple things,
That you are sure to see.
You’ll see mockingbirds and bumblebees,
Magnolia blossoms and dogwood trees;
Caterpillars on the step,
Wooden porches cleanly swept;
Watermelons on the vine,

Strong majestic Georgia pines
Rocking chairs and front yard swings
Junebugs flying on a string
Turnip greens and hot cornbread,
Coleslaw and barbecue
Fried okra, fried corn, fried green tomatoes,
Fried pies and pickles too.
There’s ice cold tea that ‘s syrupy sweet,
And cool, green grass beneath your feet;
Catfish nipping in the lake,
And fresh young boys on the make.
You’ll see all these things
And much, much more,
In a way of life, that I adore.

I love it.
It is a way of life that I adore!!!

Every Moment

This past weekend, I got to go visit with some friends.
On Friday evening, I got to have supper with Cassie.
This isn't a picture from Friday -- I forgot my camera so you get to see one from our trip to Carowinds.
What a great way to start the weekend, supper at my favorite pizza place and we even had a couple of friends join us there!!!

Saturday, I got to have brunch with my friend Courtney....

and with Scott and Kandi.

Then, last night I got to go to The Melting Pot to celebrate our friend Jenny.
Jenny just graduated from WCU in May and got a job teaching.
We were celebrating her new job and her new car....
and her new grown up life. ;)
Here is Jenny with Kandi.....

If you've never been to The Melting Pot,
you should know this:
Yep! It's that good!!!!

These three are the best friends ever.
They love me regardless of me.
They pray with and for me.
And they hold me accountable.
We had a great evening together!!!!

I left there this morning feeling very sad that I was leaving these people again.
Tonight, God reminded me of this song.
And, instead of feeling sorry for myself, I'm choosing to do what this song says.....

Give every moment to the one whose given today....

Instead of feeling sorry for myself for having to leave,
I'm choosing to hold on to every moment and thanking God for the gift that this weekend
really was to me!! Not to mention the true gift that each of these people are to me!!!!
