Today's the Perfect Day for Twins!

My sister is being induced this morning at about 7AM and my nephews will be born today!!!

If you don't mind praying for her and for them throughout the day, I would so appreciate it. She's at37 weeks but her doctor's decided it was time to induce because one baby isn't growing as much as the other anymore. And at this point, it's better for them to be born.

I'm headed that way as soon as possible. Hopefully, I will be there before they arrive.
Please pray for safe deliveries and healthy babies.

I'm so excited!!

Radical Transformation

God really spoke to me in worship this morning.
My pastor hubby spoke on Radical Transformation.
How we have to be changed .

He spoke of how often times we try to get Jesus on board with what we want to do, rather than doing what he wants us to do.  The scripture focus was  Ephesians 4:22-24.   We are to be continually changing and becoming more like him in every way. Moving on toward perfection.

But, it isn't something we can "will" ourselves into doing. It has to be a choice on our part to listen to the Holy Spirit's guidance and to allow him to change us from the inside out.  We have to be intentional about it.
Remember, I told you that God had been whispering the word "intentional" to me?
I have learned that God tends to work in themes and when something starts coming up again and again in my life, I need to wake up and pay close attention.
That's come up a lot.
So, HE caught my attention this morning.

With all the change in my life in the past 5 months, I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't been intentional about my time with God each day. My time in His Word and in prayer.
And, quite frankly, aside from feeling guilty about it, I'm feeling just plain out of sorts.
Off my game.

Then hubs shared this.....

This is how Ephesians 4:20-24 reads in the Message version:

But that's no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

Did you catch that?
Rotten through and through.

Yes, Lord, I hear what you are saying.
It's time for me to be intentional.
There are many more aspects of my life about which God wants me to be intentional but this is where I need to start.  Because the rest of them will begin to change when I get back to being more intentional in my time with HIM so that I can be radically transformed.
Not just a "good" person.
Not just another "Christian".
I want  to be the girl others look at and say "I want what she's got".

Tonight, this song is my prayer.
Pray it yourself.

I've stumbled.
But I hear you, Lord.
I'm going to be intentional.
This whole song is my prayer tonight but especially these words....
"Your will above all else, still my purpose remains.
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise. Everlasting.
Your light will shine when all else fades.
Never ending your glory goes beyond all fame.
In my heart and my soul.
I give YOU control.
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
to love you from the inside out, Lord!"
Let it be.

My Instagram Life

life rearranged

Here's whats been happening in our little world this past week.
On Sunday afternoon, we attended a cookout for one of the Sunday School classes at our church.
We were delighted to be invited guests.
The kids loved swimming in the pool
and we all had  blast.
The ride on the boat was one of my favorite parts.
I snapped this shot of my hubby while we were out.
I love this picture!!

On Monday, I ran errands and we dropped in on my Mother in law who wasn't feeling well.
I think she enjoyed our visit and I am so happy to be able to live close enough to just "drop in" now.
I got to go shop at EarthFare - which I love.
And then we stopped at Harris Teeter for a few other things and I found this.....
Raspberry Sorbet......straight from heaven, I tell you!
Seriously, I finished this off tonight.

Some incredible friends gave us tickets to Carowinds as a going away gift.  We used those on Wednesday afternoon.  We took our friend, Cassie, with us.  Here she is with the kids just before we went  in.....

We really had a blast.  Brady was exhausted after a couple of hours and took a nap.
On a crosstie......

This was his favorite ride of the day.
He loved the carousel!!

Maggie, Cassie and I went over to the water park after a while because we were so blooming hot.

This girl was a roller coaster riding machine.
Anything she was tall enough to ride, she rode.
And wanted to do it again.

My biggest girl.
She was too tall to ride some of the rides in the kids area.
And she was super proud of it!!
I wonder how she got so big!!!!

Yesterday I got a new coffee cup.
I love coffee.
This is perfect for using with my Keurig.
Perfect size!

I also got my nails done today.  I'm noticing looking at this picture that the edges aren't too great....
Oh, well.  I got Russian Navy in honor of my nephews who are scheduled to be born on Monday.
I will be there to meet them  and I cannot wait!!

On the way home from the softball game tonight , I got this pic.
Good reminder everyday -- not just on Easter.

That's what we've been up to this week.

1 Chronicles 29:11-13

      the glory, the victory, the majesty, the splendor;

  Yes! Everything in heaven, everything on earth;
the kingdom all yours! You've raised yourself high over all.

Riches and glory come from you,
      you're ruler over all;

You hold strength and power in the palm of your hand
to build up and strengthen all.

And here we are, O God, our God, giving thanks to you,
      praising your splendid Name.

Praising HIM this late, late night!!

Here is some random stuff from this week.........

*Hubs and I are looking to buy a bed. You have NO idea how excited I am to be buying my own bed.  That might sound silly but living in parsonages, there isn't much that is "mine" so I'm happy to be adding a little me.  {And after writing that feeling a little vain.}
We have looked at many, many beds. I think we've narrowed it down.
Who knew picking a bed was gonna be so stressful?

*Speaking of parsonages. Now that we've moved, I have a million pins on Pinterest  that I am super excited to make, try, do  in our new home.
Lots of decorative things to make and organization systems to put in place.
I love organizing things.
and decorating, too.
and making it "me"......
Stay tuned for lots of talk about all the great things I found on pinterest! {smile}

* The kids were gone part of this week. They had a blast with Nana and Granddaddy Curtis.
They took a train ride to Raleigh and went to the zoo.
While they were gone, I got to go to Asheville for a day with my sweet, sweet friend.
I did some cleaning and had some downtime.
I also worked on new address cards to send out.
I'm super frustrated that I have to redo them because they didn't turn out as I had hoped. ggrrrr.

*While in Asheville, I went to Lifeway.
I could spend days browsing in that store and tons of money on all the great books and studies.
I bought a couple of great studies that I cannot wait to start on.
Spending time studying His Word is one of my favorite things!!

* I am in love with this pair of shoes.
I keep looking at them.
Over and over and over.
I think I like shoes a little too much....

* I have to finish up getting the girls registered for school since in starts in like 3 weeks.
I tried to do this while they were gone, but I need their signatures on a few things so I will do that early this coming week.  And then comes the fun part.
School shopping for supplies.

*I went to some yardsales this morning.
First time I've done that in a long time.
I'm on the fence as to whether I actually like going to them or not.
I mean, I bought nothing today.
But, I follow some blogs where these ladies find incredible things at yard sales.
I would like to do that!!

SO, that's what has been happening in my random week.
What have you been up to?

Genuine Friendship

Today, I finally had the chance to upload the pictures that were on my camera.
As I looked through them and was editing them, I felt so blessed all over again.
A couple of weeks ago, hubs and I had day off from all the packing we were doing at the time to spend a day with friends in Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg, TN
The guys left early in the morning to play golf.
The girls left a little later in the morning and made a stop in Cherokee, NC to eat here.
The food was delicious!

The restaurant had a gumball machine full of mustaches.
SO, of course -- we had to get some!!
I think this might be my favorite picture from the whole day.
Seriously, I love these girls.

We drove on over to Pigeon Forge.  We had discussed shopping but since it was 110 degrees that day, we decided against it.
Instead, we went to the Titanic Museum.
It was really fantastic!!
This is the only picture from the museum that I have because no cameras were allowed inside due to the fact that they have actual artifacts.
When you get in line to go inside, you're given a boarding pass with the name of someone who was on the ship.  You're also told about the persons life.
When you get to the end of the museum, you find out if your person lived or died.
If you go to Pigeon Forge, I  highly recommend this place!!
We were there for at least two and a half hours.

As we headed back toward Gatlinburg, we saw this.
I don't know what it is exactly, but this is on our agenda for next time.....

By the time we got to Gatlinburg and parked, it was time for supper.
I was super excited about supper because we had reservations at one of my all time favorite places.

If you have never been to this restaurant, you are missing out!
It is complete fondue fun!!!
All kinds of fondue fun! Especially cheese and chocolate fondue!!
This is a picture of the main course fondue, though.
You order what meats you'd like --- we had variety of seafood and chicken and beef.....delish!!
You can see the mushrooms floating in the broth.

I have to share this with you because it is just so fun!

We found this sign on the back of the ladies room door.

My friend, Val, said "I bet on the back of the Men's room door it says, ' Share the last strawberry.' "
SO, what do you do when a question like this comes up?
You send your friend in to find out!

And then, when she confirms that the back of the Men's Room door does, indeed, say to share the last strawberry, you go in yourself to get a picture of the proof!

Finally it was time for the grand finale.
Chocolate fondue.
This is what they bring you to dip into the incredible chocolate goodness.

All three of our different  chocolate fondue's were flambeed.

It was soooo good!!!!
LOOK at that chocolate dripping!

We sent the boys back across the mountains together so that the three of us could spend a bit more time together.
We stopped at the Smokey Mountains National Park sign and got some pics.
I love these two girls so much!!!

We stopped at the top of the mountain and watched a storm roll across the valley below.
And just talked and enjoyed our time together.

It was a wonderful evening!!

AND then yesterday, I got to meet my best friend in Asheville for a day of shopping and eating.

We met at a cute little cafe for lunch and then walked around the River Arts District galleries.

After that we went to the running store because my friend, she is an awesome runner and she needed new shoes.
And, she is training for her first marathon.
I'm so proud of her!!

After that we went to Lifeway Christian Stores and spent over an hour.
I think we could spend all day in that store.....

After that it was time for supper, so we went downtown and ate an amazing supper at The Jerusalem Garden Cafe.
It's a beautiful building.

with beautiful lighting....

and ahhh mazing food!

Aside from all the fun stuff we did together and all the incredible food we ate, I just want to take a minute to say how thankful I am that God blessed Ken and I with these people as our friends.
I know that it was in HIS plan for these wonderful people to be in our lives and become our friends.
It is so nice to have genuine friendships with people who let you be who you are and still hold you accountable and help you grow.
That is what these people are to us.
And I know that with God in these friendships, they will never end but will continue to grow stronger through the years to come.
We love you all dearly and look forward to the future in our friendships!

 Ecclesiastes 4:12
By yourself you're unprotected.
With a friend you can face the worst.
Can you round up a third?
   A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped.

A Wonderful Welcome

Almost two weeks ago, we drove into town and saw this.

And we have felt welcomed at every turn since we have arrived.

I told you all about the produce and food that people have brought to us.
Not to mention the sweet cards we've received and the 20 or so people who were here to help us get moved in.
AND, to know that pictures of our family were passed out to everyone so that they could pray for us.....That is just so incredibly awesome!!!!

Today, though.
Today was our first Sunday in our new church and with our new church family.
And I can say that we truly felt the love of that family today.

Everyone was so kind and welcoming.
The lunch was great and the food was delicious!
We have some incredible cooks, I can tell already!!!

And, I personally want to thank everyone who was wearing their Appalachian State gear today.
When we first arrived this morning and I began to see people with their Appalachian State gear on, I began to wonder if it was some kind of important day for college football that I was completely unaware of.

To know that you all wore your App gear as just another way to welcome my hubby because you know that it is his Alma Mater.  THAT is just the most welcoming thing ever.

SO, thank you Mount Pleasant UMC family!
You have welcomed us completely and with such love that we are even more excited now to be serving you all and to be serving with you all.
